warner bros depiction of the epic battle between Achilles and Hector

I really like Troy and I felt It bridged a gap between the Homers book Iliad and the present. I would recommend you read the book first and then watch the movie because I feel as it is just another persons expressive interpretation on Iliad just as Cy Twombly and this website even.

PLAY THE SONG

I felt this song best represented Achilles the Iliad. My selection was based on the fact that in the Iliad Achilles is seen as the invincible hero for the Greeks. No one can beat him and Achilles is an invincible warrior that turns the tide of the battle against the Trojans. This particular song Invincible was a song that I used to hype myself up back when I boxed. Without listening to the words the tone makes you feel like you can almost do anything. I felt the words of the song were appropriate to the way Achilles acted and felt. The chorus towards the end before the final refrain states “I will waste you, when you can’t escape me, and now I will break you down.” I can imagine this very same words going through Achilles mind as he is racing the city of Trojan felling opponents as they appear before him.
